The Sun Hydraulics FRDCKIN (FRDCKIN) is a specialized hydraulic flow control valve designed to manage flow in the bypass mode only. This valve is a modification of the FRDA model and is engineered to enhance system stability under specific conditions. It features a sharp-edged orifice design that reduces flow variations caused by viscosity changes, ensuring consistent performance. The valve requires the customer to specify a flow rating, with factory-set ratings accurate within 10% of the requested setting. The maximum pressure at port 3 should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar), and bypass flow becomes available only after priority flow requirements are met. The FRDCKIN incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which minimizes the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. It also offers an adjustable control option that allows for up to a 25% variation from the nominal factory preset flow, adjusted using an internal hex screw. This valve is a modification of an FRDA. It controls flow in the bypass mode only. If the bypass pressure exceeds the pressure at the priority port the priority flow will no longer be pressure compensated. This modification was done in an attempt to improve system stability in specific cases.
