The Sun Hydraulics FRDCLAN (Material Number: FRDCLAN) is a specialized hydraulic valve designed to control flow in bypass mode only. This valve is a modification of the standard FRDA model, aimed at enhancing system stability under specific conditions. The valve ensures that if the bypass pressure exceeds the priority port pressure, the priority flow will no longer be pressure compensated. Customers must specify a flow rating, with factory settings accurate within 10% of the requested value. It features a sharp-edged orifice design to minimize flow variation due to changes in viscosity and includes an adjustable control option that provides up to 25% variation from the nominal factory preset flow. The adjustment is achieved through three turns of an internal hex adjustment screw. The valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction to reduce the risk of internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. It fits into a T-2A cavity and belongs to Series 2 with a capacity of 12 gpm (45 L/min). This valve is a modification of an FRDA. It controls flow in the bypass mode only. If the bypass pressure exceeds the pressure at the priority port the priority flow will no longer be pressure compensated. This modification was done in an attempt to improve system stability in specific cases.

  • Customer must specify a flow rating. Factory set flow ratings are within +/- 10% of the requested setting.
  • Maximum pressure at port 3 should be limited to 3000 psi (210 bar).
  • Bypass flow is not available until priority flow requirements are satisfied.
  • The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.
  • A tuneable adjustment control option provides up to +/- 25% variation from the nominal factory pre-set flow. Adjustment is done with +/- 3 turns of the adjust screw. Screw in (CW) to increase flow.
