The Sun Hydraulics FRDCOIV (FRDCOIV) is a specialized flow control valve designed to operate exclusively in bypass mode. This modification of the FRDA valve enhances system stability by ensuring that if the bypass pressure surpasses the priority port pressure, the priority flow ceases to be pressure compensated. Users can specify a desired flow rating, with factory settings accurate within 10% of this specification. The valve features a sharp-edged orifice design that minimizes flow variations due to changes in fluid viscosity and includes an adjustable control option allowing for up to a 25% variation from the nominal preset flow via an adjustment screw. The FRDCOIV utilizes Sun's floating style construction, reducing the risk of internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations.
