The Sun Hydraulics FXAAXLE (Material Number: FXAAXLE) is a fixed orifice, pressure-compensated flow control valve designed for precise flow regulation in applications with significant pressure fluctuations. It is suitable for both meter-in and meter-out configurations. The valve offers various flow rates, including 2.0 in/min (32 cc/min), 2.5 in/min (40 cc/min), 3.0 in/min (48 cc/min), 4.0 in/min (64 cc/min), and 4.5 in/min (72 cc/min). Its sharp-edged orifice design helps minimize flow variations caused by changes in fluid viscosity. This model can handle a maximum operating pressure of up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at ports 1 and 2, making it robust enough for demanding hydraulic systems. It features Sun's floating style construction, which reduces the risk of internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in the cavity/cartridge interface. The FXAAXLE is compatible with systems using phosphate ester fluids when equipped with EPDM seals; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids can damage these seals. The valve is designed to fit into a T8A cavity and belongs to the P series, offering a capacity of .5 gpm (2 L/min). It requires a valve hex size of 7/8 inch (22.2 mm) and should be installed with a torque of 25-30 lbf ft (35-40 Nm). For accurate performance, Sun Hydraulics recommends operating within the lower two-thirds of the flow range, as accuracy may decrease below .25 gpm (1 L/min) due to spool leakage and orifice conditions.
