The Sun Hydraulics FXCAQBN (FXCAQBN) is a fixed orifice, pressure-compensated flow control valve designed for precise flow regulation in meter-in or meter-out applications, accommodating wide pressure fluctuations. This model requires the user to specify a flow rating, which is factory set with a 10% tolerance of the requested setting. Notably, cartridges with EPDM seals are compatible with systems using phosphate ester fluids but are vulnerable to damage from petroleum-based fluids. The sharp-edged orifice design effectively minimizes flow variations due to changes in fluid viscosity, and the tunable control option allows for a 25% variation from the nominal factory preset flow by adjusting clockwise to increase the flow rate. All two-port flow control cartridges in this series are interchangeable in terms of cavity and frame size, although extension dimensions may differ. The FXCAQBN model features corrosion-resistant options identified by suffixes AP for stainless steel components or LH for zinc-nickel plating.
