The Sun Hydraulics NCECHDV (NCECHDV) is a needle valve with a reverse-flow check feature, designed to provide precise flow regulation. This fully adjustable orifice allows for infinite adjustment from fully closed to the maximum orifice diameter, ensuring versatile control of hydraulic flow. An integral high-capacity check valve ensures unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1, although it is important to note that this valve is not pressure compensated. The NCECHDV is physically and functionally interchangeable with other 2-port flow control cartridges of the same frame size, though installation dimensions may vary. This needle valve regulates flow in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across its ports due to its non-compensating nature. It features a balanced adjustment mechanism for easy manipulation even under high pressures and incorporates a sharp-edged orifice design that minimizes flow variations caused by viscosity changes. The Sun floating style construction reduces the likelihood of internal part binding during installation. The NCECHDV fits a T-5A cavity and has a capacity of 3 gpm (11 L/min) with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It exhibits minimal leakage at specified conditions, with an impressive maximum valve leakage rate of just 5 drops per minute (0.3 cc/min). The adjustment range spans 5.5 counterclockwise turns from fully closed to fully open, offering precise control over hydraulic systems. Installation requires specific torque settings for both the valve and locknut, ensuring secure placement and operation within hydraulic circuits. Overall, this model provides robust performance for applications requiring reliable flow regulation under varying conditions.

Needle valves with reverse-flow check are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. An integral high-capacity check valve provides unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. They are not pressure compensated.
- All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
- Because needle valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.
- A balanced adjustment mechanism allows for easy adjustment even at high pressures.
- The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
