The Sun Hydraulics NCECKDV (NCECKDV) is a needle valve with a reverse flow check, designed as a fully adjustable orifice to regulate hydraulic fluid flow. This device allows for infinite adjustment from fully closed to the maximum orifice diameter, providing users with precise control over flow rates. It features an integral high-capacity check valve that permits unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1 but is not pressure compensated. This means that the fixed orifice size will regulate flow proportionally to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2, making it essential for applications where precise control of fluid flow is necessary. The NCECKDV model incorporates a balanced adjustment mechanism that facilitates easy adjustments even under high-pressure conditions. Its sharp-edged orifice design minimizes variations in flow due to changes in fluid viscosity, ensuring consistent performance. The valve's construction features Sun's floating style, which minimizes the risk of internal parts binding caused by excessive installation torque or variations in cavity-cartridge machining. This needle valve fits into a T-5A cavity and offers a capacity of 3 gallons per minute (11 liters per minute) with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It maintains minimal leakage at standard conditions and supports up to 55 counterclockwise turns from fully closed to fully open for adjustment. The valve requires specific installation torque values and comes equipped with Viton seals for enhanced durability. With its robust construction and precise control capabilities, the Sun Hydraulics NCECKDV needle valve is ideal for managing hydraulic flows in various applications requiring reliable performance under demanding conditions.

Needle valves with reverse-flow check are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. An integral high-capacity check valve provides unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. They are not pressure compensated.
- All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
- Because needle valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.
- A balanced adjustment mechanism allows for easy adjustment even at high pressures.
- The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
