The Sun Hydraulics NCFBLEV (NCFBLEV) is a needle valve with a reverse flow check, designed to offer precise flow regulation through its fully adjustable orifice. This versatile component allows for infinite adjustment from fully closed to the maximum orifice diameter, providing flexibility in various applications. It features an integral high-capacity check valve that ensures unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1, although it is not pressure compensated. The NCFBLEV model is compatible with all 2-port flow control cartridges of the same frame size, offering physical and functional interchangeability. However, users should note that cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary. The needle valve's non-compensating design means that the fixed orifice size regulates flow proportionally to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2. A balanced adjustment mechanism facilitates easy modifications even under high pressures, while its sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes. The Sun floating style construction reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. Key specifications include a capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min) with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve has a maximum leakage rate of 10 drops/min (0.7 cc/min) at 110 SUS (24 cSt). It requires an installation torque of 150-160 lbf ft (203-217 Nm) and features an internal hex size for adjustment screw of 5/32 in. (4 mm). The model weighs approximately 1.30 lb (0.60 kg) and uses Viton seal kits for optimal performance in hydraulic systems.

Needle valves with reverse-flow check are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. An integral high-capacity check valve provides unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. They are not pressure compensated.
- All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
- Because needle valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.
- A balanced adjustment mechanism allows for easy adjustment even at high pressures.
- The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
