The Sun Hydraulics NCFCHEV (NCFCHEV) is a needle valve with reverse flow check designed for precise flow regulation in hydraulic systems. This valve features an infinitely adjustable orifice, allowing users to control the flow from fully closed to the maximum orifice diameter. An integral high-capacity check valve ensures unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1, making it ideal for applications requiring dependable reverse flow management. The design is not pressure compensated, meaning the fixed orifice size regulates flow based on the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2. With a balanced adjustment mechanism, adjustments can be made smoothly even under high pressures. The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes variations in flow due to changes in fluid viscosity, ensuring consistent performance. The valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. This model fits into a T-16A cavity and offers a series 3 capacity of up to 15 gpm (60 L/min). It can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has minimal leakage at specified conditions. The NCFCHEV valve features several practical specifications: it requires an installation torque between 150-160 lbf ft (203-217 Nm), and its adjustment screw has an internal hex size of 5/32 inches (4 mm). The locknut hex size is 9/16 inches (15 mm), with a torque specification of 80-90 lbf in (9-10 Nm). Weighing approximately 1.30 lb (0.60 kg), this model also supports Viton seal kits for enhanced durability in various environments.

Needle valves with reverse-flow check are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. An integral high-capacity check valve provides unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. They are not pressure compensated.

  • All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
  • Because needle valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.
  • A balanced adjustment mechanism allows for easy adjustment even at high pressures.
  • The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
