The Sun Hydraulics NCFCYDN (NCFCYDN) is a needle valve with a reverse flow check, designed as a fully adjustable orifice to regulate flow efficiently. It allows for infinite adjustment from fully closed to the maximum orifice diameter, ensuring versatile flow control applications. The valve features an integral high-capacity check valve that provides unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1, although it is not pressure compensated. This product is part of the 2-port flow control cartridge series, which are interchangeable in terms of function and physical dimensions for a given frame size. However, the extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary. The NCFCYDN utilizes a balanced adjustment mechanism that facilitates easy adjustments even under high pressure conditions. Its sharp-edged orifice design minimizes variations in flow due to changes in fluid viscosity. The valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction, reducing the potential for internal parts binding caused by excessive installation torque or machining variations. Key specifications include a cavity type of T-16A with a series 3 capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is limited to 5 drops/min (0.3 cc/min). Adjustment from fully closed to fully open requires approximately 5.5 counterclockwise turns. The valve has a hex size of 1-1/4 inches (31.8 mm) and requires an installation torque between 150 - 160 lbf ft (203 - 217 Nm). Additional details include an internal hex size for the adjustment screw at 5/32 inches (4 mm), locknut hex size at 9/16 inches (15 mm), and locknut torque ranging from 80 - 90 lbf in (9 -10 Nm). The model weighs approximately 1.30 lb (0.60 kg) and uses Viton seal kits identified by part number: 990016006.

Needle valves with reverse-flow check are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. An integral high-capacity check valve provides unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. They are not pressure compensated.

  • All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
  • Because needle valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.
  • A balanced adjustment mechanism allows for easy adjustment even at high pressures.
  • The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
