The Sun Hydraulics NCGBLCV (NCGBLCV) is a versatile needle valve with a reverse flow check, designed for precise flow regulation in hydraulic systems. This component allows for infinite adjustment from fully closed to the maximum orifice diameter, making it suitable for applications requiring fine-tuned flow control. It features an integral high-capacity check valve that enables unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. While not pressure compensated, the NCGBLCV is functionally interchangeable with other 2-port flow control cartridges of the same frame size, although extension dimensions may differ. The valve operates by regulating flow in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across its ports, thanks to its non-compensating design. The NCGBLCV is equipped with a balanced adjustment mechanism that facilitates easy adjustments even at high pressures. Its sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to changes in fluid viscosity. For systems using phosphate ester fluids, models configured with EPDM seals are recommended; however, these seals are not compatible with petroleum-based fluids and lubricants. The valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction to reduce the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. With a capacity of 60 gpm (240 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), this cartridge is robust and reliable.
