The Sun Hydraulics NCGCYEV (NCGCYEV) is a needle valve with a reverse-flow check, designed to provide precise flow regulation through fully adjustable orifices. This model allows for infinite adjustment from fully closed to the maximum orifice diameter, making it highly versatile for various applications. The valve features an integral high-capacity check valve that facilitates unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. It is important to note that this product is not pressure compensated, meaning the flow regulation is directly proportional to the square root of the pressure differential between ports 1 and 2. This particular model incorporates a balanced adjustment mechanism, allowing for easy adjustments even under high-pressure conditions. The sharp-edged orifice design helps minimize flow variations caused by viscosity changes, ensuring consistent performance. Additionally, the floating style construction reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. The NCGCYEV fits into a Cavity T-18A and belongs to Series 4 with a capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min). It can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve has minimal leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt), rated at just five drops per minute (0.3 cc/min). For installation, it requires a hex size of 1-5/8 inches (41.3 mm) and an installation torque between 350 - 375 lbf ft (474 - 508 Nm). The adjustment screw has an internal hex size of 5/32 inches (4 mm), while the locknut requires a hex size of 9/16 inches (15 mm) and torque between 80 - 90 lbf in (9 -10 Nm). This model weighs approximately 3.00 lb (1.35 kg) and uses Viton seal kits with part number 990018006 for maintenance needs.

Needle valves with reverse-flow check are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. An integral high-capacity check valve provides unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. They are not pressure compensated.

  • All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
  • Because needle valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.
  • A balanced adjustment mechanism allows for easy adjustment even at high pressures.
  • The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
