The Sun Hydraulics NFCCLIN (Material Number: NFCCLIN) is a needle valve designed to provide precise flow regulation in hydraulic systems. It offers full adjustability from a closed position to the maximum orifice diameter, making it versatile for various applications requiring flow control or shutoff capabilities. This non-pressure compensated valve is interchangeable with other 2-port flow control cartridges, ensuring compatibility within the same frame size and cavity. The NFCCLIN features a balanced adjustment mechanism that facilitates easy adjustments even under high pressure conditions, and its sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to changes in fluid viscosity. The valve supports bidirectional flow, with the preferred path being from port 1 to port 2 for easier interchangeability with other controls. When fully closed, it ensures zero leakage, providing reliable shutoff performance. The NFCCLIN model is built for high-pressure environments, with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It can handle a capacity of 7 gpm (28 L/min) with an orifice diameter of .19 inch (4.8 mm). The adjustment mechanism allows for up to 5.5 counterclockwise turns from fully closed to fully open positions. Installation requires a torque of 30-35 lbf ft (41-47 Nm), and the valve weighs approximately .30 lb (.15 kg). Notably, this model can be configured with EPDM seals for use in systems utilizing phosphate ester fluids but should avoid petroleum-based fluids to prevent seal damage. The NFCCLIN is also compatible with Viton seal kits (Cartridge: 990010006) for enhanced durability and performance in various hydraulic applications.

Needle valves are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. They are not pressure compensated and may be used as flow controls or as shutoff valves.
- All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
- Because needle valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.
- A balanced adjustment mechanism allows for easy adjustment even at high pressures.
- The sharp-edged orifice design minimizes flow variations due to viscosity changes.
- The flow path through this valve is bi-directional. The preferred path is port 1 to 2, to allow interchangeability with other flow controls.
- There is no leakage when the adjustment mechanism is turned to the shut-off position.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
