The Sun Hydraulics PBBBCNV (PBBBCNV) is a pilot-operated pressure reducing valve designed to manage high primary pressures, reducing them to a consistent lower pressure at the outlet port. This functionality allows for circuits with varying pressure requirements to operate efficiently using a single pump. Notably, the valve features exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics, offering stability and low hysteresis. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction to reduce the risk of internal component binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in the cavity or cartridge. The valve can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a control pilot flow rate between 7-10 cubic inches per minute (0.11-0.16 liters per minute). It is adjustable, with five clockwise turns increasing the setting, and it requires an installation torque of 20-25 lbf-ft (27-33 Nm).
