The Sun Hydraulics PBBBLWV (PBBBLWV) is a pilot-operated pressure reducing valve designed to reduce high primary pressure at inlet port 2 to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, enabling circuits with multiple pressure requirements to be managed using a single pump. This valve is ideal for applications where precise pressure control is necessary, featuring exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics, stability, and low hysteresis. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. The valve can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a capacity of 5 gpm (20 L/min). The minimum setting for all spring ranges is 75 psi (5 bar), and the adjustment screw requires clockwise turns to increase the setting up to 5.5 times. For reverse flow from reduced pressure port 1 to inlet port 2, it is recommended to add a separate check valve if free flow is required in the circuit. Pressure at port 3 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio but should not exceed the maximum limit of 5000 psi (350 bar). This model weighs approximately .30 lb (.15 kg) and uses Viton seals for cartridge sealing.

Pilot-operated, pressure reducing valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet (port 2) to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, allowing circuits with multiple pressure requirements to be operated using a single pump.
- Full reverse flow from reduced pressure (port 1) to inlet (port 2) may cause the main spool to close. If reverse free flow is required in the circuit, consider adding a separate check valve to the circuit.
- Minimum setting is 75 psi (5 bar) for all spring ranges.
- Pilot operated valves exhibit exceptionally flat pressure/flow characteristics, are very stable and have low hysteresis.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
