The Sun Hydraulics PBJFCQV (PBJFCQV) is a pilot-operated pressure reducing valve designed to reduce high primary pressure at inlet port 2 to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, enabling circuits with varying pressure needs to be operated using a single pump. This model features a main stage orifice drilled into the piston, enhancing its durability for demanding applications. It is compatible with systems using phosphate ester fluids when configured with EPDM seals; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids can damage the seals. The valve allows full reverse flow from reduced pressure port 1 to inlet port 2, though this may cause the main spool to close. - All three-port pressure reducing and reducing/relieving cartridges are physically interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). When considering mounting configurations, it is sometimes recommended that a full capacity return line (port 3) be used with reducing/relieving cartridges.
