The Sun Hydraulics PRHBLBE (PRHBLBE) is a direct-acting pressure reducing/relieving valve designed to maintain a constant reduced pressure at port 1 by reducing high primary pressure from inlet port 2, and it features a full-flow relief function to tank port 3. This valve incorporates a damped construction that ensures stable operation, making it suitable for high reduced pressure applications. Notably, the pressure at port 3 directly adds to the valve setting in a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar). The valve exhibits leakage out of port 3 when subjected to a supply pressure of 2000 psi (140 bar) and set at mid-range; this leakage varies directly with pressure differential and inversely with viscosity. Cartridges equipped with EPDM seals are intended for systems using phosphate ester fluids, as exposure to petroleum-based fluids will damage these seals. All three-port cartridges are interchangeable regarding flow path and cavity size. For certain mounting configurations, using a full capacity return line on port 3 is recommended.
