The Sun Hydraulics PVDBCCV (PVDBCCV) is a ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valve designed to maintain a constant reduced pressure at port 1 while offering full-flow relief from port 1 to tank port 3. This valve is equipped with a vent port (port 4) that allows for remote control via pilot or two-way valves. It features a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and is constructed to handle various pressure differentials depending on the adjustment range: up to 3000 psi (210 bar) for ranges A, B, and H; up to 2000 psi (140 bar) for ranges D, E, N, and Q; and up to 5000 psi (350 bar) for ranges C and W. The PVDBCCV demonstrates exceptionally stable performance with low hysteresis and flat pressure-flow characteristics. It also incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to installation torque or machining variations. This valve supports reverse flow from reduced pressure port 1 back to inlet port 2; however, the main spool may close during this process unless a separate check valve is added if reverse free flow is required. - Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar).
- Full reverse flow from reduced pressure (port 1) to inlet (port 2) may cause the main spool to close. If reverse free flow is required in the circuit, consider adding a separate check valve to the circuit.
- Pilot operated valves exhibit very low dead-band transition between reducing and relieving modes.
