The Sun Hydraulics PVFDLHN (PVFDLHN) is a ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing-relieving valve that effectively reduces a high primary pressure at the inlet to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, while providing a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank port 3. This model features a vent port at port 4, which allows for remote control via pilot or two-way valves. Unlike traditional designs, the main stage orifice is drilled directly into the piston rather than being staked in, enhancing durability for demanding applications. The valve setting is directly influenced by the pressure at port 3 on a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar). Reverse flow from reduced pressure port 1 to inlet port 2 may close the main spool; therefore, adding a separate check valve is advisable if reverse free flow is needed. The PVFDLHN exhibits very low deadband transition between reducing and relieving modes and maintains exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics with high stability and low hysteresis. Ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, with a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank (port 3).
