The Sun Hydraulics PVHAKAV (PVHAKAV) is an externally drained, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valve designed to maintain a constant reduced pressure at port 1 while offering a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank port 3. This valve is engineered to be insensitive to pressure at tank port 3, thanks to its pilot section draining at port 4, which also allows for remote control via pilot or two-way valves. Maximum pressure at port 3 should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar), and the valve can handle inlet pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) depending on the adjustment range. It features very low deadband transition between reducing and relieving modes and offers exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics, ensuring stability and low hysteresis. The PVHAKAV incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. It is designed for a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) with a flow capacity of up to 40 gpm (160 L/min). The control pilot flow ranges between 15-20 in\u00b3/min (0.25-0.33 L/min), and it requires an installation torque of 150-160 lbf ft (203-217 Nm). The valve's adjustment screw has an internal hex size of 5/32 in., with a locknut hex size of 9/16 in., requiring a locknut torque of 80-90 lbf in. Externally drained, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet (port 2) to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, with a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank (port 3). Draining the pilot section at port 4 makes these valves insensitive to pressure at tank (port 3) and provides a means for remote control by pilot or 2-way valves.
