The Sun Hydraulics PVJDCBV (PVJDCBV) is a ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valve designed to manage high primary pressure at the inlet, maintaining a constant reduced pressure at port 1 while offering a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank port 3. This valve features a vent port (port 4) that can be utilized for remote control through pilot or two-way valves. The valve's pressure setting is directly influenced by the pressure at port 3, with an additive ratio of 1:1, and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar). While pilot-operated reducing/relieving valves are not inherently fast-acting, they offer low deadband transition between reducing and relieving modes. For applications requiring superior dynamic response, direct-acting valves are recommended. The maximum inlet pressure varies by adjustment range: D, E, N, and Q ranges are tested up to a differential of 2000 psi (140 bar), A, B, and H ranges up to 3000 psi (210 bar), and C and W ranges up to an inlet pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve demonstrates stable performance with low hysteresis due to its exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics. By manipulating the vent port's pressure, users can adjust the effective setting below the nominal value. The Sun floating style construction minimizes internal part binding risks due to installation torque or machining variations. It fits into cavity T-24A series 4 with a capacity of up to 80 gpm (320 L/min). Factory settings are established with a blocked control port dead-headed scenario. It operates at a maximum of 5000 psi (350 bar) with control pilot flow between 15\u201320 in\u00b3/min (.25\u2013.33 L/min).

Ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, with a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank (port 3). The vent port (port 4) can be used as a means for remote control by pilot or 2-way valves.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar).
- Pilot operated reducing, reducing/relieving valves by nature are not fast acting valves. For superior dynamic response, consider direct acting valves.
- Pilot operated valves exhibit very low dead-band transition between reducing and relieving modes.
- Recommended maximum inlet pressure is determined by the adjustment range. Ranges D, E, N, and Q are tested with a 2000 psi (140 bar) maximum differential between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges A, B, and H are tested with a 3000 psi (210 bar) maximum differential between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges C and W are tested with 5000 psi (350 bar) of inlet pressure.
- Pilot operated valves exhibit exceptionally flat pressure/flow characteristics, are very stable and have low hysteresis.
- By controlling the pressure at the vent (port 4), the effective setting of the valve can be controlled below the nominal valve setting.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
