The Sun Hydraulics PVJDCCV (PVJDCCV) is a ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valve designed to manage high primary pressure at the inlet, maintaining a consistent reduced pressure at port 1 while offering a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank port 3. The valve is equipped with a vent port (port 4) that allows for remote control via pilot or two-way valves. It features an additive pressure capability at port 3, which should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar). Although pilot-operated valves like this one are not known for rapid response, they provide very low deadband transitions between reducing and relieving modes and are recommended for applications requiring stable pressure-flow characteristics and low hysteresis. The maximum inlet pressure varies by adjustment range: ranges D, E, N, and Q accommodate up to a 2000 psi (140 bar) differential; ranges A, B, and H handle up to 3000 psi (210 bar); while ranges C and W can withstand up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize the risk of internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. With a capacity of 80 gpm (320 L/min) and factory settings established with the control port blocked, it operates effectively within its maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The PVJDCCV also includes user-friendly features such as an internal hex adjustment screw and locknut for secure setting adjustments. This valve is suitable for applications where precise control of secondary circuit pressures is critical.

Ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, with a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank (port 3). The vent port (port 4) can be used as a means for remote control by pilot or 2-way valves.

  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar).
  • Pilot operated reducing, reducing/relieving valves by nature are not fast acting valves. For superior dynamic response, consider direct acting valves.
  • Pilot operated valves exhibit very low dead-band transition between reducing and relieving modes.
  • Recommended maximum inlet pressure is determined by the adjustment range. Ranges D, E, N, and Q are tested with a 2000 psi (140 bar) maximum differential between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges A, B, and H are tested with a 3000 psi (210 bar) maximum differential between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges C and W are tested with 5000 psi (350 bar) of inlet pressure.
