The Sun Hydraulics PVJDCEN (PVJDCEN) is a ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valve designed to maintain a constant reduced pressure at port 1 from a higher primary pressure at the inlet. It also features a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank port 3. The valve's vent port, port 4, can be utilized for remote control via pilot or two-way valves. This model supports a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and is constructed to minimize internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. The valve exhibits exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics, stability, and low hysteresis. With its pilot-operated design, the PVJDCEN is not as fast-acting as direct-acting valves but offers very low deadband transition between reducing and relieving modes. The effective setting can be controlled below the nominal valve setting by managing the pressure at vent port 4. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction for reliable performance. The valve is tested with various adjustment ranges: D, E, N, Q with a maximum differential of 2000 psi (140 bar), A, B, H with 3000 psi (210 bar), and C, W with an inlet pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). Notably suited for applications requiring stable and precise pressure control within hydraulic systems, this model maintains its efficiency even under high-pressure conditions. Installation details include a cavity T-24A series with an installation torque range of 350 - 375 lbf ft (474 - 508 Nm). The adjustment screw has an internal hex size of 5/32 in., while the locknut hex size is 9/16 in., torqued at 80 - 90 lbf in. This model weighs approximately 3.10 lb (1.40 kg) and uses Viton seal kits for optimal sealing performance.

Ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, with a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank (port 3). The vent port (port 4) can be used as a means for remote control by pilot or 2-way valves.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar).
- Pilot operated reducing, reducing/relieving valves by nature are not fast acting valves. For superior dynamic response, consider direct acting valves.
- Pilot operated valves exhibit very low dead-band transition between reducing and relieving modes.
- Recommended maximum inlet pressure is determined by the adjustment range. Ranges D, E, N, and Q are tested with a 2000 psi (140 bar) maximum differential between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges A, B, and H are tested with a 3000 psi (210 bar) maximum differential between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges C and W are tested with 5000 psi (350 bar) of inlet pressure.
- Pilot operated valves exhibit exceptionally flat pressure/flow characteristics, are very stable and have low hysteresis.
- By controlling the pressure at the vent (port 4), the effective setting of the valve can be controlled below the nominal valve setting.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
