The Sun Hydraulics PVJDLEN (PVJDLEN) is a ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valve designed to reduce high primary pressure at the inlet to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, while providing a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank port 3. This valve features a vent port (port 4) for remote control via pilot or two-way valves. It is important to note that the pressure at port 3 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar). While pilot-operated reducing/relieving valves are not fast-acting, they offer low deadband transition between reducing and relieving modes. The maximum recommended inlet pressure depends on the adjustment range, with ranges D, E, N, and Q tested with a maximum differential of 2000 psi (140 bar) between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges A, B, and H allow for a differential of up to 3000 psi (210 bar), while ranges C and W accommodate an inlet pressure of up to 5000 psi (350 bar). These valves are known for their stable performance with exceptionally flat pressure-flow characteristics and low hysteresis. The effective setting can be adjusted below the nominal setting by controlling the vent port's pressure. The Sun floating style construction minimizes internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. This model fits into T-24A cavity series with a capacity of up to 80 gpm (320 L/min) and operates under a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It requires an installation torque between 350-375 lbf ft (474-508 Nm), with adjustments made via an internal hex screw.

Ventable, pilot-operated pressure reducing/relieving valves reduce a high primary pressure at the inlet to a constant reduced pressure at port 1, with a full-flow relief function from port 1 to tank (port 3). The vent port (port 4) can be used as a means for remote control by pilot or 2-way valves.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 3000 psi (210 bar).
- Pilot operated reducing, reducing/relieving valves by nature are not fast acting valves. For superior dynamic response, consider direct acting valves.
- Pilot operated valves exhibit very low dead-band transition between reducing and relieving modes.
- Recommended maximum inlet pressure is determined by the adjustment range. Ranges D, E, N, and Q are tested with a 2000 psi (140 bar) maximum differential between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges A, B, and H are tested with a 3000 psi (210 bar) maximum differential between inlet and reduced pressure. Ranges C and W are tested with 5000 psi (350 bar) of inlet pressure.
- Pilot operated valves exhibit exceptionally flat pressure/flow characteristics, are very stable and have low hysteresis.
- By controlling the pressure at the vent (port 4), the effective setting of the valve can be controlled below the nominal valve setting.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
