The Sun Hydraulics RBACLDV (RBACLDV) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge designed for remote pressure control in hydraulic systems. This model is specifically tailored to manage the pressure settings of other pilot-operated valves, with its capacity limited to pilot flow. It is ideally used in conjunction with higher flow valves for optimal performance. The RBACLDV is equipped with EPDM seals, making it suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids while warning against exposure to petroleum-based substances which could harm the seals. A 150-micron stainless steel screen protects the main stage orifice, enhancing its durability and functionality in load-holding applications. This cartridge valve supports back pressure on the tank port at a 1:1 ratio directly additive to the valve setting, allowing precise control over system pressures. The RBACLDV can be configured with W and Y controls, adjustable throughout their full range unless a special setting is specified. Corrosion resistance is a key feature of this model, available with external stainless steel components (suffix AP) or zinc-nickel plating (suffix LH), making it appropriate for corrosive environments. The floating style construction minimizes internal part binding due to installation torque or machining variations. With a cavity size of T-10A and Series 1 capacity of 0.25 gpm (1 L/min), it operates at a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a typical response time of 2 ms. Maximum valve leakage stands at five drops per minute at 110 SUS (24 cSt). The adjustment mechanism allows up to five clockwise turns to increase settings, supported by specific hex sizes for both the valve and locknut. Overall, the Sun Hydraulics RBACLDV offers robust performance for precise pressure control in demanding hydraulic applications while ensuring adaptability in various environmental conditions.

Direct-acting, pilot relief cartridges are used to remotely control the pressure setting of other pilot-operated valves. Because capacity is limited to pilot flow, these valves should be used with other higher flow valves.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
- Suitable for use in load holding applications.
- Back pressure on the tank port (port 2) is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
- W and Y controls (where applicable) can be specified with or without a special setting. When no special setting is specified, the valve is adjustable throughout its full range using the W or Y control. When a special setting is specified, this setting represents the maximum setting of the valve.
- Corrosion resistant cartridge valves are intended for use in corrosive environments and are identified by the model code suffix /AP for external stainless steel components, or /LH for external zinc-nickel plated components. See the CONFIGURATION section for all options. For further details, please see the Materials of Construction page located under TECH RESOURCES.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
