The Sun Hydraulics RBACTAN (RBACTAN) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge designed to remotely control the pressure setting of other pilot-operated valves. They incorporate a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and are suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids when configured with EPDM seals. However, exposure to petroleum-based fluids can damage these seals. The valve's backpressure on the tank port is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio, allowing precise control over system pressure. The RBACTAN model features corrosion-resistant components identified by suffixes AP or LH for external stainless steel or zinc-nickel plating, respectively, making it suitable for corrosive environments. Its design employs Sun's floating style construction, minimizing the risk of internal binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations.
