The Sun Hydraulics RBACTDN (RBACTDN) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge valve designed to remotely control the pressure setting of other pilot-operated valves. This valve is ideal for systems where capacity is limited to pilot flow and should be used in conjunction with higher flow valves. It features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, making it suitable for load-holding applications. The RBACTDN model includes EPDM seals specifically for use with phosphate ester fluids, as exposure to petroleum-based fluids can damage the seals. The valve's design incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in the cavity/cartridge. This cartridge valve has a capacity of 0.25 gpm (1 L/min) and can operate at pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). It exhibits a typical response time of 2 milliseconds and maintains maximum leakage at 5 drops/minute (0.3 cc/minute) when operating at 110 SUS (24 cSt). The RBACTDN allows adjustment through five clockwise turns to increase the setting, with a valve hex size of 7/8 inch (22.2 mm) and an installation torque range of 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm). The adjustment screw has an internal hex size of 5/32 inch (4 mm), while the locknut hex size is 9/16 inch (15 mm), requiring a torque of 80 - 90 lbf in (9 - 10 Nm). This product is corrosion-resistant, identified by model code suffixes AP or LH for external stainless steel or zinc-nickel plated components, respectively.
