The Sun Hydraulics RBADKBV (RBADKBV) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge designed with back-to-back check valves, enabling it to remotely control two other pilot-operated valves or function as a thermal relief for both ends of an actuator. This valve is ideal for load holding applications due to its ability to prevent overpressure from thermal expansion of fluid. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing the risk of internal parts binding due to installation torque or machining variations. The back-to-back check valves effectively prevent cross talk between controlled valves, with one adjustment managing both. The check cracking pressure is set at 15 psi (1 bar), and the pressure at port 3 adds directly to the valve setting. This cartridge has a capacity of 0.25 gpm (1 L/min) and a typical response time of 2 ms, with maximum leakage rated at five drops per minute at 110 SUS (24 cSt). Adjustments are made via an internal hex screw, requiring five clockwise turns to increase the setting. The valve features a hex size of 7/8 in. (22.2 mm) and should be installed with torque between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm). For secure adjustments, the locknut has a hex size of 9/16 in. (15 mm) and should be torqued between 80 - 90 lbf in. (9 - 10 Nm). Additionally, this model uses Viton seals, with seal kit part number: 990011006 available for maintenance needs.
