The Sun Hydraulics RBADLBN (RBADLBN) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge designed to incorporate back-to-back check valves. This unique configuration enables the valve to remotely control two other pilot-operated valves or function as a thermal relief for both ends of an actuator. The capacity of this valve is limited to pilot flow, making it suitable for use with other valves that have comparable pilot flows. The back-to-back check valves are instrumental in preventing cross talk between the two remotely controlled valves, ensuring seamless operation. A single adjustment controls both valves, simplifying the management process. The valve features a check cracking pressure of 15 psi (1 bar), and the pressure at port 3 directly adds to the valve setting, enhancing its load-holding capabilities. It effectively prevents overpressure caused by thermal expansion of fluids, making it ideal for applications requiring thermal relief. The Sun floating style construction incorporated into this design minimizes the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. Key specifications include a cavity T-11A Series 1 capacity of 0.25 gpm (1 L/min) and a typical response time of 2 ms. The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is limited to 5 drops/min (0.3 cc/min). Adjustment requires five clockwise turns to increase the setting, with a valve hex size of 7/8 in. (22.2 mm) and an installation torque range of 30-35 lbf ft (41-47 Nm). Additional components such as an adjustment screw internal hex size of 5/32 in. (4 mm) and locknut hex size of 9/16 in. (15 mm) are included, with locknut torque specified between 80-90 lbf in. (9-10 Nm). The seal kit cartridge is Viton: 990011006, ensuring durability and compatibility within hydraulic systems.

This direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge incorporates back-to-back check valves. This allows it to remotely control 2 other pilot-operated valves or act as a thermal relief for both ends of an actuator. Because capacity is limited to pilot flow, this valve should be used with other valves with comparable pilot flows.
- The back-to-back check valves prevent cross talk between the two valves that are being remote controlled.
- One adjustment controls two valves.
- Check cracking pressure is 15 psi (1 bar).
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting.
- Suitable for load holding applications
- The term thermal relief means it prevents overpressure due to thermal expansion of the fluid.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
