The Sun Hydraulics RBADLBV (RBADLBV) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge featuring back-to-back check valves, designed to remotely control two other pilot-operated valves or serve as a thermal relief for both ends of an actuator. This valve is ideally suited for load holding applications, with its capacity limited to pilot flow, necessitating use with other valves of comparable pilot flows. The back-to-back check valves effectively prevent cross talk between the two remote-controlled valves, with a single adjustment managing both. The check cracking pressure is set at 15 psi (1 bar), and pressure at port 3 directly adds to the valve setting. This model incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. It fits into a Cavity T-11A Series 1 and has a capacity of 0.25 gpm (1 L/min), with a typical response time of 2 ms. The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is limited to 5 drops/min (0.3 cc/min). To increase the setting, five clockwise turns are required on the adjustment screw, which features an internal hex size of 5/32 in. (4 mm). The valve hex size measures 7/8 in. (22.2 mm), and installation torque ranges between 30–35 lbf ft (41–47 Nm). A locknut hex size of 9/16 in. (15 mm) requires torque between 80–90 lbf in. (9–10 Nm). The cartridge uses Viton seals under seal kit number 990011006 for optimal performance and durability in various applications requiring precise pressure control and thermal relief capabilities.

This direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge incorporates back-to-back check valves. This allows it to remotely control 2 other pilot-operated valves or act as a thermal relief for both ends of an actuator. Because capacity is limited to pilot flow, this valve should be used with other valves with comparable pilot flows.
- The back-to-back check valves prevent cross talk between the two valves that are being remote controlled.
- One adjustment controls two valves.
- Check cracking pressure is 15 psi (1 bar).
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting.
- Suitable for load holding applications
- The term thermal relief means it prevents overpressure due to thermal expansion of the fluid.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
