The Sun Hydraulics RBADLCV (RBADLCV) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge that features back-to-back check valves, enabling it to remotely control two other pilot-operated valves or act as a thermal relief for both ends of an actuator. This valve is designed for applications where load holding is necessary and effectively prevents overpressure due to thermal expansion of the fluid. The back-to-back check valves are crucial as they prevent cross talk between the two remote-controlled valves, ensuring reliable operation. With a check cracking pressure of 15 psi (1 bar), the pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting, allowing for precise control. The RBADLCV incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which minimizes the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. It has a capacity of 0.25 gpm (1 L/min) and a typical response time of 2 ms, making it suitable for systems requiring quick reactions. The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is limited to 5 drops per minute (0.3 cc/min). Adjustments can be made with up to five clockwise turns to increase the setting, and it features a valve hex size of 7/8 in. (22.2 mm) with an installation torque range between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm). For maintenance or adjustments, the adjustment screw has an internal hex size of 5/32 in. (4 mm), while the locknut hex size is 9/16 in. (15 mm), requiring a locknut torque between 80 - 90 lbf in. (9 - 10 Nm). The cartridge seal kit uses Viton material with part number 990011006.

This direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge incorporates back-to-back check valves. This allows it to remotely control 2 other pilot-operated valves or act as a thermal relief for both ends of an actuator. Because capacity is limited to pilot flow, this valve should be used with other valves with comparable pilot flows.
- The back-to-back check valves prevent cross talk between the two valves that are being remote controlled.
- One adjustment controls two valves.
- Check cracking pressure is 15 psi (1 bar).
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting.
- Suitable for load holding applications
- The term thermal relief means it prevents overpressure due to thermal expansion of the fluid.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
