The Sun Hydraulics RBAECBN (RBAECBN) is a two-port, pilot-stage, direct-acting relief cartridge designed for precision pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This fully adjustable, normally closed valve opens a flow path from port 1 to port 2 when the inlet pressure at port 1 exceeds the preset spring force. It employs the Sun T-8A two-port cavity, making it ideal for use alongside Sun's main stage pilot or vent-to-operate cartridges, eliminating the need for separate pilot lines and requiring only one machined cavity to accommodate both control and primary functions. The valve's design includes hardened poppet and seat components that ensure consistent operation with low leakage rates and superior wear resistance. It can handle pressures at both ports up to 5000 psi (350 bar), with backpressure at port 2 directly adding to the pressure setting at port 1. The RBAECBN is capable of handling a flow capacity of up to 2.5 gpm (10 L/min) with a typical response time of just 2 milliseconds. The maximum valve leakage is rated at 15 drops per minute under specific conditions. For installations using phosphate ester fluids, cartridges configured with EPDM seals should be used; however, these seals are not compatible with petroleum-based fluids or greases.
