The Sun Hydraulics RBAECDN (RBAECDN) is a two-port, pilot-stage, direct-acting relief cartridge designed for pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This normally closed valve is fully adjustable and opens a flow path from port 1 to port 2 when the inlet pressure at port 1 surpasses the spring force valve setting. It utilizes the Sun T8A two-port cavity, making it ideal for integration with Sun's main stage pilot or vent-to-operate cartridges, eliminating the need for separate pilot lines and requiring only one cavity to accommodate both control and primary functions. The RBAECDN features hardened poppet and seat components for consistent operation, low leakage rates, and superior wear characteristics. It can handle pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at both ports 1 and 2. The backpressure at port 2 is directly additive to the pressure setting at port 1. This cartridge incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. For systems utilizing phosphate ester fluids, configurations with EPDM seals are available; however, these seals should not be exposed to petroleum-based fluids as they may incur damage.
