The Sun Hydraulics RBAECEV (RBAECEV) is a two-port, pilot-stage, direct-acting relief cartridge designed for pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This fully adjustable, normally closed valve activates when the pressure at port 1 surpasses the spring force setting, creating a flow path to port 2. It utilizes the Sun T-8A two-port cavity, allowing it to be used seamlessly with Sun's main stage pilot or vent-to-operate cartridges, eliminating the need for separate pilot lines and requiring only one cavity for both control and primary functions. The valve can handle pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at ports 1 and 2 and features hardened poppet and seat components for consistent operation, low leakage rates, and superior wear characteristics. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to excessive torque or machining variations. The RBAECEV cartridge is capable of handling a flow capacity of 2.5 gpm (10 L/min) with a typical response time of 2 milliseconds and maximum valve leakage at 15 drops/minute (1 cc/min). Installation requires specific torque values: main stage valve at its correct torque followed by the T-8A pilot control section. The valve features an internal hex size adjustment screw of 5/32 inches (4 mm), a locknut hex size of 9/16 inches (15 mm), with locknut torque ranging from 80 to 90 lbf-in (9 to 10 Nm). Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids will damage these seals. This product is ideal for applications requiring precise pressure regulation without compromising on speed or reliability.
