The Sun Hydraulics RBAEKCV (RBAEKCV) is a two-port, pilot-stage, direct-acting relief cartridge designed for pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This model is fully adjustable and normally closed, only opening a flow path from port 1 to port 2 when the inlet pressure at port 1 surpasses the valve's spring force setting. It utilizes the Sun T-8A two-port cavity, making it an optimal choice for use alongside Sun's main stage pilot or vent-to-operate cartridges. The design eliminates the need for separate pilot lines and requires only one cavity to be machined for both control and primary functions. The RBAEKCV can withstand pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at both ports 1 and 2. It features a hardened poppet and seat for consistent operation, low leakage rates, and superior wear characteristics. The backpressure at port 2 is directly additive to the pressure setting at port 1 inlet. The cartridge incorporates Sun\u2019s floating style construction to minimize potential binding of internal parts due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. For systems utilizing phosphate ester fluids, cartridges configured with EPDM seals are recommended; exposure to petroleum-based fluids will damage these seals. It has a capacity of 2.5 gpm (10 L/min) with factory pressure settings established at 2 in/min (30 cc/min). The typical response time is approximately 2 ms with maximum valve leakage at 15 drops/min (1 cc/min) under specific conditions.
