The Sun Hydraulics RBAELDE (RBAELDE) is a two-port, pilot-stage, direct-acting relief cartridge designed for pressure regulation. This fully adjustable, normally closed valve opens a flow path from port 1 to port 2 when the inlet pressure at port 1 surpasses the spring force valve setting. It utilizes the Sun T8A two-port cavity, making it an ideal choice for use with Sun's main stage pilot or vent-to-operate cartridges, eliminating the need for separate pilot lines and requiring only one cavity to accommodate both control and primary functions. The valve supports pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at ports 1 and 2 and features hardened poppet and seat components for consistent operation, low leakage rates, and superior wear characteristics. The backpressure at port 2 is directly additive to the pressure setting at port 1. The RBAELDE incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It is compatible with systems using phosphate ester fluids when configured with EPDM seals; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids will damage these seals. The valve has a capacity of 2.5 gpm (10 L/min) and a maximum valve leakage of 15 drops/min (1 cc/min) at 110 SUS (24 cSt). Installation requires specific torque values: main stage valve first followed by the T8A pilot control section. The adjustment screw has an internal hex size of 5/32 in. (4 mm), while the locknut requires a torque of 80-90 lbf in. (9-10 Nm). This product is particularly suitable for applications requiring rapid response times of approximately 2 ms and precise pressure control within set tolerances.
