The Sun Hydraulics RBAEOCV (RBAEOCV) is a two-port, pilot-stage, direct-acting relief cartridge designed for pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This fully adjustable, normally closed valve opens a flow path from port 1 to port 2 when the inlet pressure at port 1 surpasses the pre-set spring force. It utilizes the Sun T8A two-port cavity, making it an ideal choice for integration with Sun's main stage pilot or vent-to-operate cartridges. This configuration eliminates the need for separate pilot lines and requires only one cavity to accommodate both control and primary functions. Ports 1 and 2 can withstand pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar), and the hardened poppet and seat ensure consistent operation with low leakage rates and superior wear characteristics. The valve features a floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. The RBAEOCV is suitable for systems with phosphate ester fluids when configured with EPDM seals; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids, greases, or lubricants will damage these seals. The valve has a capacity of 2.5 gpm (10 L/min) and demonstrates a typical response time of 2 ms. Maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is limited to 15 drops/min (1 cc/min). Installation requires specific torque values: the main stage valve should be torqued first, followed by the T8A pilot control section. Adjustment screw internal hex size is 5/32 in. (4 mm), while locknut torque ranges from 80-90 lbf-in (9-10 Nm). This product is suitable for applications requiring precise pressure regulation without complex setup or maintenance demands.
