The Sun Hydraulics RBAEYDE (RBAEYDE) is a two-port, pilot-stage, direct-acting relief cartridge designed as a fully adjustable, normally closed pressure regulating valve. This cartridge opens a flow path from port 1 to port 2 when the inlet pressure at port 1 exceeds the spring force setting. It is compatible with the Sun T-8A 2-port cavity, making it an ideal choice for integration with Sun's main stage pilot or vent-to-operate cartridges. The design eliminates the need for separate pilot lines and requires only one cavity to accommodate both control and primary functions. Ports 1 and 2 can handle pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve features hardened poppet and seat components for consistent operation, low leakage, and superior wear resistance. Backpressure at port 2 is additive to the pressure setting at port 1. Cartridges with EPDM seals are intended for systems using phosphate ester fluids; exposure to petroleum-based fluids will damage these seals. The floating style construction minimizes internal binding risks due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in the cavity/cartridge interface. The RBAEYDE cartridge has a capacity of 2.5 gpm (10 L/min) with factory pressure settings established at a flow rate of 30 cc/min (2 in/min). It operates with a typical response time of approximately 2 ms and allows a maximum valve leakage of 15 drops/min (1 cc/min) at an oil viscosity of 110 SUS (24 cSt). Installation requires specific torque values: the valve hex size is .78 inches (22.2 mm), requiring torque between 20 and 25 lbf\u00b7ft (27\u201333 Nm), while the adjustment screw internal hex size is .532 inches (4 mm), and locknut torque ranges from 80 to 90 lbf\u00b7in (9\u201310 Nm).
