The Sun Hydraulics RBANXWV2D24V (RBANXWV2D24V) is a 2-port, pilot-stage, direct-acting relief cartridge that functions as an electroproportionally controlled, normally closed pressure regulating valve. This valve is spring-biased to remain closed at its highest customer-specified setting. By increasing the current to the coil, the pressure setting is proportionally decreased. The valve opens when the inlet pressure at port 1 surpasses the spring force minus the solenoid force, as determined by an analog input signal, allowing flow from port 1 to port 2. Utilizing the T8A cavity, it can be integrated with Sun's main stage pressure control elements. Customers must specify a relief setting within their selected pressure range, which represents the maximum default relief pressure without command. As command increases, this relief setting decreases and cannot be adjusted in the field. The analog input signal allows for stepless control of pressure. This cartridge uses Sun's T8A cavity and eliminates separate pilot lines by requiring only one machined cavity for both control and primary functions. All 2-port pilot stage control cartridges share this cavity and are interchangeable based on functionality alone. The high pilot capacity supports larger main stage elements with stable operation across various conditions due to its damped construction and low leakage levels when closed. Coils are interchangeable with other Sun solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. For optimal performance, a current-sensing amplifier with adjustable dither between 100-250 Hz is recommended. The valve incorporates floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in cavities or cartridges. Key specifications include a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), a capacity of .25 gpm (1 L/min), and a reseat level at 85% of cracking pressure.

This 2-port, pilot-stage, direct-acting relief cartridge is an electro-proportionally controlled, normally-closed pressure regulating valve. The valve is spring biased closed to its highest setting (customer specified). Increasing current to the coil will proportionally decrease the pressure setting. When the pressure at port 1 (inlet) is sufficient to overcome the spring force minus the solenoid force, as determined by the analog input signal, the poppet lifts and allows flow from port 1 to port 2 (outlet). This pilot control cartridge utilizes the T-8A cavity so it can be used in conjunction with Sun's main stage, pressure control elements.

  • Customer must specify a relief setting that falls within the selected pressure range. This setting represents the maximum relief pressure which the valve will default to with no command. As the command increases, the relief setting will decrease. See performance curves for selected pressure range. This setting is not adjustable in the field.
  • Varying the analog input signal to the proportional solenoid provides a step-less control of pressure.
  • This electro-proportional cartridge utilizes the Sun T-8A, 2-port cavity making it the ideal choice to use in conjunction with Sun's main stage cartridges. Separate pilot lines are eliminated and only one cavity needs to be machined to accommodate both the control and primary function. Note: All 2-port pilot stage control cartridges utilize the same cavity and are physically interchangeable. Functionality is the only consideration.
