The Sun Hydraulics RBATFWV (RBATFWV) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge valve designed to remotely control the pressure settings of other pilot-operated valves. This model is specifically intended for applications where it works in conjunction with higher flow valves, as its capacity is limited to pilot flow. It features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, making it suitable for use in load holding applications. The valve setting can be influenced by back pressure on the tank port at a 1:1 ratio, providing precise control in various hydraulic systems. The RBATFWV incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It fits into a T-10A cavity and has a series 1 capacity of 0.25 gpm (1 L/min) with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The typical response time for this valve is 2 milliseconds, and it has a maximum leakage rate of 5 drops per minute (0.3 cc/min) at 110 SUS (24 cSt). For adjustment, the valve requires approximately 5.5 clockwise turns to increase the setting. Installation specifications include a valve hex size of 7/8 inch (22.2 mm), installation torque between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm), an adjustment screw internal hex size of 5/32 inch (4 mm), and locknut hex size of 9/16 inch (15 mm) with a locknut torque range of 80 - 90 lbf in (9 -10 Nm). The model weighs approximately .30 lb (.15 kg) and utilizes Viton seals for optimal performance and durability in demanding environments.

Direct-acting, pilot relief cartridges are used to remotely control the pressure setting of other pilot-operated valves. Because capacity is limited to pilot flow, these valves should be used with other higher flow valves.

  • Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
  • Suitable for use in load holding applications.
  • Back pressure on the tank port (port 2) is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
