The Sun Hydraulics RBATLWV (RBATLWV) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge designed to remotely control the pressure setting of other pilot-operated valves. This valve is specifically engineered for load holding applications and features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. The RBATLWV model incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which minimizes the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It has a capacity of 0.25 gpm (1 L/min) and can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The response time for this valve is typically 2 milliseconds, with maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) being 5 drops/min (0.3 cc/min). The adjustment mechanism allows for up to 5.5 clockwise turns to increase the setting, and it includes specific hex sizes for various components: the valve hex size is 7/8 in. (22.2 mm), the internal hex size for the adjustment screw is 5/32 in. (4 mm), and the locknut hex size is 9/16 in. (15 mm). Installation torque ranges between 30 to 35 lbf ft (41 to 47 Nm), while locknut torque should be between 80 to 90 lbf in. (9 to 10 Nm). The product weighs approximately .30 lb (.15 kg) and uses a Viton seal kit with part number 990010006. This cartridge is suitable for applications requiring precise pressure control and stability under varying conditions, offering reliable performance in hydraulic systems where back pressure on the tank port directly affects valve settings at a ratio of 1:1.

Direct-acting, pilot relief cartridges are used to remotely control the pressure setting of other pilot-operated valves. Because capacity is limited to pilot flow, these valves should be used with other higher flow valves.

  • Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
  • Suitable for use in load holding applications.
  • Back pressure on the tank port (port 2) is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
