The Sun Hydraulics RBATQCV (RBATQCV) is a direct-acting, pilot relief cartridge designed to remotely control the pressure setting of other pilot-operated valves. This product is ideal for applications where load holding is necessary, as it provides reliable pressure regulation with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen to ensure durability and performance. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which minimizes the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. The RBATQCV has a capacity of 0.25 gpm (1 L/min) and offers a typical response time of 2 milliseconds. The valve has minimal leakage, with a maximum leakage rate of 5 drops/minute at 110 SUS (24 cSt). It can be adjusted by turning the adjustment screw clockwise up to five turns to increase the setting. Installation requires specific torque settings: the valve hex size is 7/8 inch (22.2 mm) with an installation torque between 30-35 lbf ft (41-47 Nm), while the locknut hex size is 9/16 inch (15 mm) with locknut torque ranging from 80-90 lbf in (9-10 Nm). Additionally, back pressure on port 2 directly affects the valve setting at a ratio of 1:1. Weighing just .30 lb (.15 kg), this cartridge also comes with an optional Viton seal kit for enhanced sealing performance under various conditions.

Direct-acting, pilot relief cartridges are used to remotely control the pressure setting of other pilot-operated valves. Because capacity is limited to pilot flow, these valves should be used with other higher flow valves.

  • Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
  • Suitable for use in load holding applications.
  • Back pressure on the tank port (port 2) is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
