The Sun Hydraulics RBFACWV (RBFACWV) is a bidirectional, direct-acting relief cartridge valve designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients by limiting pressure rise. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens when the pressure differential between ports 1 and 2 surpasses the valve setting, throttling flow to manage pressure regardless of direction. Both directions exhibit similar settings and performance. Its internal modulation helps prevent issues like cavitation-induced noise and manifold erosion. The valve's adjust screw seals are exposed to port 1 pressure; thus, adjustments should be made only when pressure is released or via port 2. It maintains performance despite varying oil temperatures and contamination levels. Selecting a spring range with a relief setting in the mid-to-high range ensures optimal repeatability.
