The Sun Hydraulics RBFALCV (RBFALCV) is a bidirectional, direct-acting relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients by limiting pressure rise when differential pressure between ports 1 and 2 exceeds the valve setting. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve features modulating action within the cartridge to mitigate issues like noise and manifold erosion associated with cavitation. The valve's design ensures it is relatively insensitive to varying oil temperatures and contamination, making it reliable in diverse conditions. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. The RBFALCV operates with a maximum flow capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). Its response time is typically 2 ms, with a reseat at 85% of the setting and maximum valve leakage at reseat being 30 drops/min.
