The Sun Hydraulics RDDAMBV (RDDAMBV) is a direct-acting relief cartridge valve designed to provide reliable pressure limiting in hydraulic systems. This normally closed valve protects hydraulic components from pressure transients by opening to the tank port when the inlet pressure reaches the set threshold, thereby throttling flow and limiting pressure rise. Known for its smooth and quiet operation, the RDDAMBV offers essentially zero leakage and is highly tolerant of dirt, making it immune to silting and capable of rapid response. It is physically and functionally interchangeable with other 2-port relief cartridges, except pilot reliefs, sharing the same flow path and cavity for a given frame size. This valve can handle maximum pressure at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits. It features seals on the adjust screw exposed to system pressure; thus, adjustments can only be made when system pressure is removed.
