The Sun Hydraulics RDDAMCN (RDDAMCN) is a direct-acting relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients by being normally closed and pressure-limiting. When the inlet port pressure reaches the valve setting, it opens to the tank port, throttling flow to limit pressure rise. This valve is known for its smooth operation, quiet performance, zero leakage, dirt tolerance, and rapid response time of approximately 2 milliseconds. It is interchangeable with other 2-port relief cartridges of the same frame size and flow path. The RDDAMCN can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a capacity of 25 gpm (95 L/min). It is suitable for cross port relief circuits and load-holding applications. The valve's adjustability requires system pressure removal before making any adjustments. It is recommended to select a spring range where the desired relief setting falls between midrange and high for optimal repeatability. The valve's performance remains relatively stable despite varying oil temperatures or contamination levels.
