The Sun Hydraulics RDDAWWV (RDDAWWV) is a direct-acting relief cartridge valve designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients by limiting pressure rise when the inlet port pressure reaches the valve setting. These normally closed, pressure-limiting valves open to tank port 2, throttling flow and ensuring smooth, quiet operation with essentially zero leakage. They are dirt tolerant, immune to silting, and exhibit fast response times. The RDDAWWV valve is interchangeable with other 2-port relief cartridges within the same frame size, offering a consistent flow path and cavity configuration. It can handle maximum pressure at port 2 and is suitable for cross-port relief circuits. The valve's adjust screw seals are exposed to system pressure; thus, adjustments must be made with no system pressure present. This model demonstrates insensitivity to oil temperature variations and contamination. For optimal performance, select a spring range where the desired relief setting falls between midrange and high of the specified limits to ensure repeatability.
