The Sun Hydraulics RDFACCV (RDFACCV) is a direct-acting relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic systems from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens to the tank port when inlet pressure reaches the valve setting, effectively throttling flow to prevent excessive pressure build-up. The RDFACCV is known for its smooth operation, rapid response time of approximately 2 milliseconds, and essentially zero leakage at reseat. It is also dirt tolerant and immune to silting, making it a reliable choice for various hydraulic applications. This relief cartridge is interchangeable with other 2-port relief cartridges of the same frame size, offering flexibility in system design. It can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and a flow capacity of up to 50 gpm (200 L/min). The valve's performance remains stable across varying oil temperatures and contamination levels. It features an adjustment mechanism that requires system pressure removal before setting changes can be made; this ensures precise control over the valve's operation. The RDFACCV is suitable for use in load-holding applications and cross-port relief circuits, with back pressure on the tank port directly affecting the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
