The Sun Hydraulics RDHALWV (RDHALWV) is a direct-acting relief cartridge valve designed to provide protection against pressure transients in hydraulic systems. As a normally closed, pressure-limiting valve, it begins to open when the inlet port pressure exceeds the set level, allowing flow to the tank port and limiting further pressure increase. Known for its smooth operation and zero leakage, this valve is dirt tolerant and immune to silting. It is highly responsive with a typical response time of 2 ms and can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The RDHALWV is suitable for load holding applications and can be used in cross-port relief circuits due to its ability to accept maximum pressure at port 2. The valve's design includes Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal binding risks during installation. It features interchangeable compatibility with other 2-port relief cartridges of the same frame size. The adjustment process involves removing system pressure before setting changes, ensuring precise control over the desired relief setting within the spring range for repeatability.
