The Sun Hydraulics RPCCKBN (RPCCKBN) is a pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation. This normally closed valve opens to the tank port when the inlet pressure reaches a set level, effectively controlling flow and maintaining desired pressure levels. Known for its accuracy, low-pressure rise relative to flow, smooth operation, and moderate speed, this valve is versatile in application. It is physically and functionally interchangeable with other 2-port relief cartridges of the same frame size, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits while accounting for potential spool leakage. The valve can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) with a typical response time of 10 ms. It features an adjustable setting with a minimum threshold of 75 psi (5 bar) across all spring ranges. The main stage orifice is contamination-protected, and the design incorporates Sun's floating style construction to prevent binding due to installation torque or machining variations. Although not suited for load-holding applications due to spool leakage, it can accept maximum pressure at port 2. The back pressure on the tank port directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
